On peut comparer à l'an dernier.

2. Votre film préféré vu cette année
J'hésite entre The Handmaiden, Pride et Wolfwalkers.

3. Votre livre préféré lu cette année
Crush de Richard Siken

4. Votre album/chanson préféré écouté cette année
J'ai passé beaucoup de temps à écouter The Chemical worker's song.

5. Votre série télé préférée vue cette année
What we do in the shadows

10. Votre petite amie de fiction de l'année
Eda the The Owl House

Plus de What we do in the shadows (j'espère plus de Nandor/Guillermo, ha ha).

Taken from [personal profile] shipperslist this time.

Give me a character from any of my fandoms and I'll tell you:

1. How I feel about this character

2. All the people I ship romantically and/or sexually with this character

3. Favorite gen relationship(s) for this character

4. My unpopular opinion about this character

5. One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

6. Random pet theory about this character that you won't convince me is not true.

7. A song or piece of music I associate with this character.
flo_nelja: (Default)
36. Characters that you can’t decide if you prefer as ship or brotp

Hmmm, this one is not easy.

* Corto/Rasputin in Corto Maltese. Their relationship is perfect. On the one hand, I'm maybe more interested in reading canon-typical gen that ship fic where Rasputin's obsession is most self-aware, but on the other hand, good shipfic would be incredible and when the franchise made it just a bit more explicit I didn't complain...

* Sarah/Helena from Orphan Black. Of course they are sisters, and at the end of the show I no longer really ship them. But I remember earlier in the series, all the tension that went unexploited, between Helena being weirdly obsessed on Sarah and Sarah being so angry at her for killing their bio mother and how this was forgotten rather than resolved. And I remember a time where their relationship was intense but not sisterly at all and when I did ship it.

35. Ship that you have kinda love/hate relationship with

Usually my love/hate relationship with a ship are or the "was shipping it, dislike the way it became canon" type. Like Naruto/Hinata from Naruto. I was rooting for her! And it became canon. I should be glad. Except that we never see Naruto fall in love with her, it's just the magic of time skip, so it just makes me bitter. How to annoy shippers and non-shippers alike. ^^

34. Ship that you never expected to ship when you were younger but here you are

Oh, good question. I have few ships from my childhood fandoms, few slash ships especially. Maybe it's hard for me to change my vision of something?

In Greek myth, I'm far more open to weird or non-canon pairings, but it doesn't mean I will actively ship them.

In Les Misérables, I didn't know I was shipping Enjolras and Grantaire, but I was so invested in their relationship that the only thing missing was the concept of shipping.

Oh, I know! Still in Les Misérables, Cosette/Eponine or Cosette/Marius/Eponine! I didn't think about it at the time, and I do now!

.

33. Ship that you ship in one installment of franchise but not in other (for example in movie, but not in the book this movie is based on)

Oh, I got a good one, Scar/Lust from the first anime adaptation of Fullmetal Alchemist.

In general, as it was made before the manga was finished, it changes the plot, and who interacts with who, enough for me to have a few ships that exist only here. Winry/Scieszka! Greed/Kimblee! But my favourite is the tragic UST or Scar and Lust (that exists only because of developing all the homunculi in a very different direction, that I loved). Good job on this.

.

32. Favourite ship for hurt-comfort

This would be Jon/Martin from The Magnus Archives. Functional ship in an horror story, sad backstories, they're born for this! ^^
Also, I love them very much.

.
flo_nelja: (Default)
31. Favourite non-canon ship

So, the reverse of yesterday: a ship that not only doesn't date, but I'm pretty sure the author didn't even put subtext on purpose.
So it would be Hikaru/Akira from Hikaru no go. Still love the kids deeply! (I reread the manga recently)
flo_nelja: (Default)
30. Favourite canon ship

It's always hard to define "canon" (what about canon one-sided attraction?), and half of my selections for the previous categories were kind-of canon at least. so i'm going with the most restrictive definition of canon: not only they were together, but they are still together (endgame, or right now in an ongoing canon).

So it would be Soichirou/Yukino from KareKano. Yeah for high school romance where they get together at the beginning of the series and not at the end!
flo_nelja: (Default)
29. Favourite crossover ship

I'm rarely invested in crossover ships, since usually I start to ship based on interactions.

But I found one! It's a bit of a cheating since they come from the same universe initially, but I like the idea of X-men movieverse Mystique/Avengers movieverse Black Widow.

.

28. Ship that you expected to ship before reading/watching franchise and you don’t

There are a few of them, one of the most significant - because it's a big ship and my friends love it and I really expected to love it - is Will/Hannibal from Hannibal (even if I only watched the first season)

.
flo_nelja: (Default)
27. Ship that you expected to ship before reading/watching franchise and you do

Orihime/Tatsuki from Bleach. First time I heard Bleach recced, it was actually on a yuri comm. People were like "hey, there's a new shounen manga" (it was a long time ago) "it actually passes the Bechdel test! Female characters are cool! You can see femslash subtext! there's a secondary lesbian character, OK she's played for laughs but she's here!"

I read it, and just as planned, I fell in love with the Orihime/Tatsuki ship. All the princess-and-dragon imagery! I love their relationship, I also love them individually.
Yoruichi/Soifon, too, to a lesser extent. I also loves a lot of m/m and f/m pairings, but it's another story.

But finally, female-character-wise, the beginning was the best part, and I was a bit disappointed.

.
flo_nelja: (Default)
26. Characters that you like in every dynamic (lovers, friends, enemies)

Oh, this is Xavier/Magneto from the many iterations of X-men!

Most of the times they're enemies who are sad about being enemies.
They were friends once then they had a fight. Sometimes they're allies or even friends again.
Sometimes they actually try to kill each other, but most of the time they almost-die in each other's arms because of someone else. And talk to each other's ghost.
One time they had a tiny pic where they were together in an AU. On time they breoke the fourth wall and harassed Stan Lee until he gave them a vacation together. One time they were an eagle and a tortoise.

This is only the canon. ^^
The only parts that make me sad is then they don't seem to care about each other.
flo_nelja: (Default)
25. Favourite foe yay ship

Oh, this is Doctor/Master in Doctor Who, in so many incarnations!
flo_nelja: (Default)
24. Biggest notp

I don't put as much energy in my notps than in my otps. Also, to have even the littlest bit of energy to put into it, they need either to be canon either to be one of the fandom favourite. I don't spend time being "I would really dislike this random ship no one writes", even when I, well, really dislike it.

But let's do categories here too!

* Ships where I dislike the tropes. For example, Touga/Utena from Revolutionary Girl Utena. Utena is about living like a prince, not a princess, and Touga is all about respecting the gender roles. First he tries to manipulate her to beat her in a duel. After it fails, he really falls in love with her, but he's like "I should protect her from afar even if she hates me because she's a girl and I'm a boy", so sorry, despite the redemption, he keeps annoying me. Even the movie reveal of his trauma of being raped by his adoptive father being the source for his homophobia can make him a little more sympathetic as a character, but it sure won't make me like the ship.

* And sometimes, the tropes align with my tastes, but I'm disappointed, because I don't like how the canon does things. Like, Varrick/Zhi Li in Legend of Korra. I do love assistants having a crush for their evil-ish boss! But the show tries to sell it to me as a happy ending when I don't see it. Varrick can sure do grand gestures, but we have no hint that he will start treating her better; him missing her only shows he loved how their relationship works, with the inequality and unreasonable demands. In addition, Varrick represents capitalism as other villains of the show represent other political systems, and his redemption arc in general, not only the romance, was rushed and absolutely not believable. He grows a conscience as a joke, and as a political statement I don't agree with. It could have been done better, but with more setup.

I probably dislike some ships more, I just totally forgot about them right now. ^^

1. What’s your first and second most common work ratings?

General Audiences (334)
Teen And Up Audiences (258)

I'm writing more porn these days, but still, it will be long to catch back.

2. What’s your most common archive warning? Least common? Do you consider yourself an adventurous writer?

Most common: No Archive Warnings Apply (564)
Less common: Graphic Depictions Of Violence (32)

I don't feel adventurous at all. I mean, I have a big comfort zone (tons of fandoms and different genres) but I stay in it? If I were, I would try more longfic I think.

3. How many fics have you written in each relationship category? Is this more accidental, or do you have preferences?

Gen (321)
M/M (282)
F/F (161)
F/M (160)
Other (45)
Multi (25)

I never know why so many gen. And then I remember it's not only fics about gen relationships: it's also plotty fics, and meta in the shape of fic (like character study).

I like M/M, M/F and F/F about the same amount, but unless I choose me fandoms on purpose for it, lots of my fandoms have more M+M relationships.
I have more F/F than F/M because I've been actively trying to write more relationships between women because I'm annoyed by the state of my fandoms. And these days most of my fave M/F ships are canon.

4. What are your top 4 fandoms by numbers? Are you still active in any of them, and do you tend to migrate a lot?

The Magnus Archives (Podcast) (81)
Gravity Falls (63)
Bleach (59)
Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling (34)

Still active in TMA. For the others, I sometimes might write something for an exchange, but I don't count as active.
I migrate, yeah, even if I never 100% leave an old fandom. Even if I no longer write, I can still appreciate art, fic or meta.

5. What are your top 4 character tags? Does this match how you feel about the characters, or are you puzzled?

Ford Pines (50)
Bill Cipher (44)
Andrew Wells (26)
Martin Blackwood (26)

It sure is only characters I like. But there's no exact link between characters I like and characters I write a lot. Some of my faves are super-hard to write, some of them are easy... As I'm still writing a lot of shipfic despite all the gen in the tags it also depends whether I have ships with them.

I'm glad because I always have the feeling I was writing more some in mu earllier fandom years and it seems it's not 100% true.

6. What are your top 2 most used additional tags, and your bottom 2? What would happen if you combined all 4 of these into a fic?

Most used:
Humor (214)
Angst (172)

9th and 10th:
Mindfuck (70)
Post-Canon (63)

Ah I have five fics labelled Humor, Angst and Post-Canon, but none of them is labelled Mindfuck, though some of them have it.
But you know it describes a good number of my Bill/Ford post-canon fics where Bill "comes back" in a way or another, and I have three of them, with varied degrees of darkness.

7. How many WIPs do you have currently running on AO3? Any you don’t plan on finishing?

Hmmm, I think most of my fics not marked complete are drabble collections right now. I'm a one-shot person. The exception is a Silmarillion fic I haven't advanced for lirerally decades, but I still feel I should get back to it.

.
flo_nelja: (Default)
23. Poly ship that you ship despite not shipping some of the characters in it outside of poly ship.

Here again I don't understand the question exactly.

* If it's "I want them to be all three together, even if I know they all like each other, I want no combinations of two, only the OT3, something would be missing", there is Hikaru/Lantys/Eagle from Magic Knight Rayearth

* If it's "I ship two of the combinations of two but this is stricly a poly V, no romantic feelings between the other people", there are cases like Aurora/Mulan/Philip, where Mulan and Philip are good friends, and these days I'm in Kuroo/Kenma/Hinata where Kuroo and Hinata mostly can manage grudging respect for each other. ^^

.
flo_nelja: (Default)
22. Ship that you immediately fall in love with after one scene despite not considering it before.

Agnes/Gertrude from The Magnus Archives. I loved both characters, had ships from both, and then it was mentioned that they had an evil Web soulbond, I was like, wait, wait a minute, let me think about all the implications! And started to ship them quite hard.

.
flo_nelja: (Default)
21. Ship that one day you were thinking of and thought “wait, when I started shipping it?”

I think Odin/Loki from Norse myth is here. I sure didn't ship them originally in mythology books for children or in Wagner.
I remember I their relationship as a comparison for Ethan and Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, whom I ship. But I don't think I was really shipping Odin and Loki at the time.
As I started doing research about LGBT myths, and I was reading the Lokasenna. It's the one where Odin and Loki insult each other about their manliness

Othin spake:
Winters eight | wast thou under the earth,
Milking the cows as a maid,
(Ay, and babes didst thou bear;
Unmanly thy soul must seem.)"

Loki spake:
24. "They say that with spells | in Samsey once
Like witches with charms didst thou work;
And in witch's guise | among men didst thou go;
Unmanly thy soul must seem."

Frigg spake:
25. "Of the deeds ye two | of old have done
Ye should make no speech among men;
Whate'er ye have done | in days gone by,
Old tales should ne'er be told."

So it's NOT about Loki and Odin together. But the way Frigg interrupts them, I don't know, it seems like other things were to be revealed. Also, the way they know all these things about each other. Not to mention the part before where Odin still has to honor his oath about beng Loki's blood brother.

So I think I started to ship this even as in my webpage about queer myths and legends I had to say they were totally not canon. ^^
